Investment Consulting Internship
The role:
The intern will have the opportunity to be involved in a variety of activities within Highland’s consulting practice and to build critical work experience in investment research, financial analysis, planning and client service.
You will:
- Analyze investment strategies, structures and vehicles
- Participate in meetings with investment managers and service providers
- Conduct asset allocation and risk modeling studies
- Create and deliver reports and presentations
- Attend client meetings and investment/plan reviews
- Assist with requests for proposals for client vendors, create client materials and complete performance calculations
We are seeking candidates that have:
- Completed their junior year of a four-year degree in finance, accounting, economics, mathematics or a related field OR enrolled in a masters level program in any of the previously listed fields by the beginning of the internship
- Proficiency with computers including MS Office (e.g. MS Excel, MS Word, MS Dynamics, and MS PowerPoint)
- Exposure to financial software (e.g. Bloomberg, Morningstar Direct, Investment Metrics, etc.) and programming ability (e.g. in R, SQL, VBA, etc.) are preferred
- The ability to perform work with a high degree of quality and timeliness
- The ability to speak and write with specificity and knowledge in areas of responsibility
