Marketing and Social Media Fellow



 









EYEJ empowers young people to be advocates for change through YODJ:Youth Online Discussing Justice and its Youth Council. The EYEJ communityincludes 900 diverse adult members, donors, allies and organizations whoengage with and learn about social justice issues through dialogue with over1,600 young people and participation in programs such as EYEJ Speaks andtown halls. 




JOB DETAILS:
Job Title: Marketing and Social Media Fellow
Immediate Supervisor: Lead Marketing Officer
Time: Part Time during work week, with occasional evening support needed forspecial events or campaigns. In total, 15-20 hours a week.
Minimum Degree: Associates or Bachelor’s Degree preferred but those withcertifications will also be considered.
Minimum Years of Experience: At least 2 years of experience with aconcentration in the following areas: Digital Marketing, Content Creation,Analytics, Email Marketing, or Website Optimization.
Primary Objective: Fellow will be responsible for helping EYEJ build the audienceand messaging on digital platforms including newsletter, social media, and EYEJwebsite. Role will include leading our social media strategy across Facebook,Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and LinkedIn.





EYEJ is looking for a Marketing Fellow that is committed to the EYEJ mission anddriven to furthering its objectives while creating meaningful and impactful digitalcontent. The Fellow will be working with a diverse team of individuals from acrossCleveland and the country focused on empowering youth through EYEJ’s social justicework. Your work will reach community leaders, educators, youth, families, activists,business leaders and others so it’s important that you be familiar with digitalmarketing across various platforms and tools.




QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong strategic background creating and implementing successful media andmarketing campaigns. Ability to drive marketing plans to new markets through theintegration of new social media outlets — Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter.Demonstrate the ability to view future trends in digital and social media platforms toeffectively keep EYEJ’s media strategy engaging and forward thinking in theconstantly changing marketplace.
Action oriented with aptitude to work independently as well and utilize soundjudgment.
Working knowledge of non-profit marketing with a focus on youth, education,social justice, racial justice, diversity and inclusion, or digital connectivity.











Strong oral, written, communication and presentation skills.
Experience with Google Analytics a bonus
Familiar with email marketing
Excellent track record of creative approaches to break out social mediacampaigns that engage community participation and increase brandrecognition.





DUTIES:
Work with EYEJ marketing team in the the development and execution ofmarketing plans, promotional activities related to digital platforms, newsletter,and website.
Engage with and cultivate audiences across platforms (Facebook, Instagram,YouTube, LinkedIn, and Twitter) maintaining brand voice, to drive audiencegrowth, brand awareness, and community engagement for EYEJ.
Help manage social calendars and posting, adhering to brand identify, andoverall aesthetic for the organization.
Respond to constituent comments and messages on social media
Drafting campaign emails for awareness, volunteer signups, and fundraisingcampaigns
Leveraging Google Analytics to track the impact of EYEJs digital activities andmake recommendations for improvement.
Monitor news and current events in our issue areas (social justice, digitalconnectivity, racial justice, youth in Cleveland, African American issues) and workclosely with the Marketing lead to develop and vet content based on currentopportunities to maximize visibility and impact across all digital platforms.

Technology Requirements:
Excellent in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Drive/Google Docs
Experience with Social Media (Facebook, Linked In, Instagram) 
Experience with Slack and Trello preferred
Experience with Salesforce and Quickbooks a plus
