Information Technology Intern - Summer 2022

Avient is seeking a summer intern in Cleveland, Ohio to join the Corporate IT organization, which provides global solutions and services to enable Avient and its customers to reach world-class performance. This internship focuses on projects involving the expanding portfolio of systems that Avient IT manages and leveraging new technology to support our mission of providing a highly reliable and cost effective infrastructure for a growing global company. During the internship they will establish relationships with peers and leaders, learn fundamentals and be provided feedback from the program manager. Upon completion, participants may have the opportunity to join the IT Leadership Development Program after graduation. Housing assistance is provided and pay is commensurate with experience.
IT Interns may assist with projects such as:
  • System implementations
  • Infrastructure integrations
  • Upgrades of existing systems
  • Deploying the suite of Avient systems and solutions beyond North America, including implementations in Europe, Asia, and South America
Essential Functions
  • Develop and implement technical designs to meet business needs
  • Develop and maintain project plans
  • Develop and maintain test plans, track progress of testing, and coordinate testing sessions with different parts of the organization
  • Development of key communication and training materials
  • Provide daily break-fix support and the development/rollout of new capabilities
·      Interact with Senior Management, build relationships with other employees across the globe and make a difference in Avient’s future success
·      Willingness to occasionally work during non-traditional working hours
·      Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience
  • Currently pursing degree in Business or Information Systems
Additional Qualifications
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Problem solving / decision-making / sound judgment
  • Ability to handle multitasking, manage time, and prioritize tasks based on customer needs
  • Attention to detail and the ability to follow processes and procedures
