Co-op - Manufacturing Engineering (Spring 2022 Semester)

If you are an ENGINEERING STUDENT looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our ELYRIA, OH location, you will work closely with Manufacturing Engineers on equipment improvements and have the opportunity to design, build, and validate tooling, fixtures, and other production aides. Additionally, develop and update SOPs, work instructions, change orders, and other documentation for the above activities. Develop and update production, tooling, and equipment drawings using Solidworks. Learn and apply World Class Manufacturing tools relating to Industrial Efficiency, 5S, and Safety.
AS A MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING CO-OP, YOU WILL: 
  • Design, build and validate tooling and fixtures
  • Develop and/or update SOP's and work instructions
  • Develop and/or update tooling and fixture drawings
  • Participate in 5S and Safety activities

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
  • Undergraduate Student currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher
  • Legal Authorization to work in the United States – Sponsorship will not be provided for this role.
 PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:  
  • Undergraduate Student currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment is a plus
  • Some coursework related to Industrial or Mechanical Engineering is a plus
  • Experience or coursework in design software such as SolidWorks is a plus
