Procurement Sourcing Specialist - Career Development Program
Medical Mutual’s Career Development Program provides a one-of-a-kind opportunity for participants to jump start their careers in health insurance. The program places you in a full-time position including a six-month corporate rotation experience across the Company in departments like Customer Experience, Care Management, Pharmacy, Network & Provider Management, Information Technology, Finance, Sales & Marketing, Underwriting and Health Informatics. This career opportunity starts May 2022 but could start earlier depending on the candidate’s availability.

Identifies savings and process improvement opportunities; supports collaborative relationships internally and externally; helps to facilitate sourcing events and negotiating with suppliers.
- Locates sources of supply by obtaining price quotations through formal and informal processes to select the appropriate vendor based on the required specifications.
- Conducts market analyses and benchmarking to refine opportunities. Understands regional and local supply markets, including major suppliers and their capabilities.
- Processes orders through the procurement system. Trains end users on requisitioning and performs any troubleshooting. Maintains and improves product catalogs listed in the procurement system.
- Provides support to other sourcing professionals within the Procurement Department.
- Helps to facilitate sourcing events (RFQ, RFI, RFP, or direct negotiation), supplier selection, and price/contract negotiation.
Qualifications- Career Development Program
Eligibility To be considered for Medical Mutual’s Career Development Program which begins in May 2022, you must:
- Have completed a Bachelor’s degree or higher within the last two years and achieved a minimum 3.0 GPA
- Attention to detail, strong leadership, communication, problem-solving and time management skills
- Have reliable transportation and be able to travel to other Medical Mutual locations Internship and/or other work experience is preferred, but not required.
Sourcing Specialist Qualifications:
- BS in Business Administration with Supply Chain focus (preferred) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 6 months sourcing internship or other experience
- Demonstrated success in achieving quantifiable savings through application of strategic sourcing methods and principles.
- Certified Purchasing Manager (preferred)
- Strategic Sourcing Methodology (preferred – Services Industry)
