Spring Accounting Intern

Green Circle Growers’ Internship Program gives students majoring in Accounting the opportunity to work for one of the largest greenhouse operations in the nation. GCG is committed to introducing fresh new ideas to the marketplace while utilizing production methods that are efficient and environmentally conscious.
The goal of GCGs’ Internship Program is to give students a hands-on experience to support our Accounting/Finance team with various ad hoc projects. In close collaboration with our teams, you will contribute towards a variety of assignments during the internship, as well as working with cross-functional teams across the Green Circle organization.

You will have the opportunity to apply your education to a professional setting, while gaining valuable experience and skills. In this role, you will learn and apply our processes, and understand industry best practices and trends.
Job Duties:
  • Supporting the accounting team to ensure proper accounting at month-end and throughout the month.
  • Work with internal customers to solve problems and find technical and reporting solutions.
  • Assist with balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Prepare roll forward schedules and update accrual schedules.
  • Assist with the fixed asset ledger.
  • Data validation and cleaning for data migration.
  • Assist the accounting team with data entry during our “busy season”.
  • Work on ad hoc projects on an ongoing basis.
  • Get hands on experience as one of the nation’s largest greenhouse operations.

Qualifications:
  • Enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate college/university and are in good standing.
  • Declared your major in, accounting, finance or economics prior to the internship.
  • Strong PC skills utilizing Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week from September to December.
  • Must be able to read/speak English with good communication skills.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check
