Mechanical Engineering Internship
Mika Metal Fabricating is seeking full time mechanical engineering interns to learn every aspect of the sheet metal fabricating business. Interns will work in each department at different times throughout the week. Duties will include any and every job on the shop floor, creating engineering designs, loading designs onto laser and CNC machines, learning our ERP, scanning and loading paper drawings into our digital ERP, help the leadership team manage workflow, help leadership teams find efficiencies and bottlenecks, quality checking, inventory management, shop floor optimization, accounts payable, accounts receivables, marketing optimization, sales assistance, shipping, and quoting jobs for potential sales. Weekly for one hour, interns will meet with the company President to debrief their week and bring context to each task and process. Mika is willing to apply/ work with the school to help interns receive credit for the semester while learning every aspect of the metal fabrication business. Also, this is a full time position, but Mika fully understands that candidates will have to arrange work hours around a class schedule, so if the hours end up being less than 40 hours per week, that is fine; however, candidates should be willing to devote at lease 25 hours per week to this work/ study program.
