(#R-10271) 2023 Winter/Tax Season Trust Tax Intern


The Trust Tax Intern position is an entry-level position providing assistance to the tax professionals preparing fiduciary, charitable, and individual income tax reporting for Key Private Bank relationships. The position lends clerical assistance to the review of account transactions, transaction reconciliations for charitable accounts, organization and input of partnership income reporting, and organization of individual income tax information. The objective of the internship is to provide insight into tax reporting in a high-volume department and support academic learning by exposure to a professional corporate environment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Maintain tax information on trust accounting system and vendor tax system
  • Investigate client transactions to determine the appropriate tax treatment
  • Prepare allocation spreadsheets for participants in pooled trusts
  • Input tax information in preparation of trust returns
  • Print, assemble and organize tax documents for mailing and filing
  • Assemble/organize tax information received from individual taxpayers
  • Reconcile transactions in charitable accounts in preparation for tax return reporting
  • Provide backup and support for other members of the team
  • Serve as a resource for the team on projects as needed

  • Self-starter with initiative to seek opportunities in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to interact with and gain the respect of all levels of internal personnel

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 2 years of college pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a related field
  • Full-time Internship starting in January 2023
  • A minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Authorized to work in the United States (full-time preferred)
