Position Summary
The Product Development Intern will receive project assignments related to ongoing research and/or product development for infant and/or toddler food in the Baby Meals and Drinks category. In this position you will be exposed to all phases of the product development process, including benchtop/lab scale research and development, pilot scale testing, factory trials/scale up, experimental design, sensory testing, and finished product analysis. You will work under the supervision of an experienced mentor and will be expected to provide regular updates formally and informally throughout the internship, including a final presentation. There will be multiple opportunities to interact professionally and socially with interns in other functions. The intern will be expected to function in a cross-functional team environment in all aspects of the internship. The internship will be Six months in duration. Preferred start date of January 2023 and May/June 2023, with flexibility on the start date. This position will be expected to work onsite.
 
Requirements & Preferred Skills
Education
  • Graduate and undergraduate students in Food Science, Food Engineering, or related field: must have at least core food science curriculum completed (i.e. food chemistry, food analysis, food microbiology, food processing, etc.). Previous experience in a product development course, product development team or as a product development intern is a benefit, but not required.
  • GPA: Minimum 3.0

  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Basic Analytical skillset such as Moisture, pH, & Bostwick for data tracking and results analysis
  • Ability to work and thrive in a team environment
  • Demonstrate outstanding learning capabilities
  • Ability to deliver results on challenging assignments
