Social Worker I
Program Statement: Catholic Charities, Migration and Refugee Services (MRS) is seeking a motivated, mission-driven and knowledgeable Social Worker I to provide case management services for refugees and asylees. MRS provides holistic, strengths-based, trauma informed treatment that focuses on medical, psychological, social, and legal needs.
You will be a part of a large refugee resettlement office that assists approximately 450 refugees annually from countries including Bhutan, Burma, Sudan, Somalia, Ethiopia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Burundi, Eritrea, Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Pakistan, and Ukraine. We respect the dignity of each person and provide a supportive environment where each individual and culture is celebrated. Building upon the courage and strength of these newcomers, we seek to empower them to achieve self-sufficiency and independence.
What you will do:
- Assist refugees and asylees to attain basic needs and services including, but not limited to: housing, food,
- clothing, medical care, public benefits access, legal services, English language training, employment services and connection to community support systems.
- Document all activities and ensure case files are in compliance with agency and federal guidelines.
- Plan, implement, and facilitate program activities.
- Prepare reports and maintain confidential records.
