Investment Analyst

Summary: The Investment Analyst, in collaboration with the SVP/CFO and Director of Investments, is responsible for investment research and analysis related to the Foundation’s $3.0B+ endowment.

Responsibilities and Expected Outcomes:
 
Investments:
 
·        Keep abreast of investment market conditions and support the CFO and Director of Investments by providing recommendations for investment strategy and portfolio construction.
·        Conduct research on investment opportunities and due diligence on current and potential fund manager.
·        Tracking and analysis of underlying investment exposures in the Foundation’s investment portfolio.
·        Monitor performance of Foundation’s investment portfolio.
·        Update monthly and quarterly fact sheets for investment pools.
·        Benchmark fees paid to managers and trustees and compare to peers and benchmarks.
·        Review and analysis of external broker and financial advisor relationships.
·        Initiate wire transfers for capital calls and maintain liquidity worksheets.
·        Prepare investment trade tickets for portfolio rebalancing.
·        Assist with audit requirements such as fair value pricing, tracking alternative investment activity, audit confirms and price testing to ensure accurate investment information is presented in annual financial statements.
·        Portfolio analysis for retirement committee.
·        Assist with investment policy and governance compliance.
·        Work on special projects as requested by the CFO or Director of Investments.
 
Finance/Treasury:
 
·        Oversee daily cash management of money market accounts. Transfer funds as required to maintain sufficient liquidity.

·        Assist Chief Financial Officer with budget analysis.
·        Analyze fees paid by the Trust for investment management and consulting. Review invoices where needed.
·        Perform and monitor the administrative fee calculations.
·        Analyze planned gifts including but not limited to charitable gift annuity, and charitable remainder trusts.
·        Assist Controller with ad‐hoc projects and analysis.
 
Other Duties:
 
·        Prepare various presentations for the CFO and Director of Investments to the board, its sub‐committees, and executive team, as well as, to donors, local non‐profits and other community stakeholders.
·        Prepare investment material posted on our donor portal.
·        Serve as a finance liaison to Donor Relations and other teams within the Foundation.

Essential Qualifications, Credentials and Technical Skills required:
·        Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, mathematics or related field with working knowledge of financial
accounting and capital markets and investments.
·        Academic or work experience in investments management, accounting, budgeting, and cash management.
·        Strong competency in advanced PowerPoint, Excel modeling skills, and proficiency using Microsoft Office 365. Competency in finance and technology tools must be demonstrated through a skills test.
·        A passion for investing, natural curiosity, and desire to understand financial markets.
·        Strong attention to detail, and excellent analytical skills.
·        Exceptional time management skills with the ability to turn around requests quickly.
·        Ability to work independently in a dynamic and fast‐paced environment.
·        Desire to work collaborative within and across teams.
·        Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with a diverse group of internal and external individuals at all levels.
·        Passion for community and a commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion across all work.
·        Bloomberg Terminal experience welcome.

PAY AND BENEFITS:
Based on the foundation's compensation program, estimated annual salary for this position may be anywhere between $52,000 and $67,000, based on the academic, professional and community experiences and credentials of a candidate. The foundation offers an exceptional benefits package including medical, dental, vision, identity theft, and life and disability coverage, a comprehensive wellness program, an employee assistance program, a fully vested 403(b) retirement plan, ten paid holidays and, for exempt positions, 15 days of vacation and 12 sick days, prorated the first year of service based on date of hire.
