ABOUT THE JOB (JOB BRIEF)
Learn on both a macro and micro level all aspects of working on a bank trading floor with the foreign exchange (Fx) corporate sales team. The position is full-time from July through December in Cle
 
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS TO BE LEARNED DURING CO-OP
  • Awareness of global market and economic conditions and what factors move Fx markets. Be able to communicate, both orally and in writing with internal and external clients.
  • Learn FX products offered: spot, forwards, and options. Know each product's advantages and disadvantages to various clients.
  • Understand Fx pricing conventions.
  • Work directly with clients face to face and on the phone.
  • Assist in creating customer presentation materials.
  • Assist in writing and publishing daily market commentary.
  • Attend prospect and client meetings with companies of all sizes.
  • Learn how Fx fits into the Payments chain and interact with other client facing teams at the Bank.
  • Learn how Fx fits into a client's overall bank relationship and work with bank relationship officers.
  • Learn how credit plays a role in Fx transactions and to work with internal bank credit teams.
  • Become proficient in how SalesForce is used. Be able to create and maintain client information.
  • Learn how Bloomberg and/or Reuters is used for gathering information and client requests.
  • Learn from Fx traders how to manage risk of Fx trades.
  • Learn our Fx trade entry system, including deal entry of all trade types, checking availability of FX credit lines and creating reports of all types.
  • Learn and assist clients with our client facing Fx trading platform, Key2Fx. Become thoroughly versed on features and benefits of the system.
  • Learn the intricacies of Fx payments and interacting with our Fx Operations team in assisting clients.
  • Learn how clients use Multi-Bank platforms for interactions with their bank's for Fx transactions.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • On track for bachelor's degree
  • Have excellent written and oral communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Embrace a client-focused work ethic – ability to communicate face to face and on the phone with clients
  • Have desire to work in a team environment
  • Be self-motivated and results-oriented
  • Be able to function effectively under pressure
  • Managers will consider all students, but prefer students on their last co-op for potential full-time conversion
  • KeyBank’s Campus Program Internship and Analyst positions are not eligible for employment visa sponsorship (e.g., H-1B visa).
