Accounting Internship
Great Lakes Cheese is seeking an intern at our corporate office. This position is a paid internship, and the candidate must be geographically mobile.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Our Business Operations Interns will be working in either Pricing Operations, or Costing. Only the intern that works in that department will perform the projects listed below.
Pricing Operations
- Sales/ CSCC requests – learn how to accurately gather and set up all pricing and fringe information for Customers in SAP.
- Help support regular business audits with cross-functional teams.
- Help build pricing calendars for the CPQ system.
- Investigate pricing discrepancies.
- Engage with cross-functional teams as needed to ensure system accuracy and functionality.
- Other responsibilities as assigned by the manager.
Costing
- Deviated Pricing Project – Crossover in other department or functionality within Accounting outside of just costing.
- Assist with the Bill of Material cleanup of items.
- Assist in with inventory accuracy – plant inventory reporting, weekly reporting, etc.
- Sample Billing Project - Supplier Deficiencies, Order Review, and more.
- Other responsibilities as assigned by the manager.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
· Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Supply Chain, Information Systems, or a similarly related field. Or an Associate’s Degree in a technical field with 5 years experience or more in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
· Direct experience in making independent decisions based on functional expertise and experience.
· Ability to provide leadership, support, communication and direction to various layers within organization from line personnel up to plant management.
· Ability to work within a cross functional organization.
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
· Problem solving skills.
· Direct experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
· Analytical Thinking
· Strong communication, presentation, and team skills.
· Excellent organizational and time management skills.
· Self-motivated with a high level of initiative, able to work well independently.

WORKING CONDITIONS
· Work is performed in an office setting.
· Occasional exposure to industrial operations including: temperature extremes from approximately 35ºF to 100ºF; noise levels in excess of 85 dB; moisture and moving machinery.
