Walton Family Endowment Fellowship in Time-Based Media (TBM)

Time-based media (TBM) works include a durational element, such as video, sound, light, or movement. The Cleveland Museum of Art has a growing collection of time-based media in its contemporary art holdings. The Time-based Media intern in Collections Management will consult colleagues in Collections Management, Conservation, Design, and Digital Innovation and Technology Services, as well as seek examples from peer institutions, to produce a time-based media installation guide template. Synthesizing artist-provided information and documentation from previous installations, the TBM intern will create installation guides for each work of TBM in CMA’s permanent collection. A particular priority will be creating an installation guide for a work of sound art in preparation for a future loan.

In addition, the TBM intern will assist with ongoing database activities and administrative tasks in the Collections Management department, which is responsible for coordinating shipments and installation/deinstallation of exhibitions, outgoing loans, incoming long-term loans, new acquisitions, and all art movement in the building, including storage areas.
