Conference Services Scheduler

December 2019 • Cleveland, OH

What I liked

I love this job! It keeps me busy so I'm not miserable, but I'm also not drowning in work. My boss is very flexible with me and takes my thoughts into consideration.

What I wish was different

COVID19 really changed the work environment. This past semester things have been quite slow because of the lack of events on campus. This is not the fault of any of those who work in my office, it's just the circumstances that we were placed in. Luckily, I enjoy pretty much everything about this job.

Advice

Mostly, take notes. Training for this position seemed to be a little bit overwhelming, but I took really good notes on all of the things I needed to know and how all of the processes worked. I saved a lot of my own time and everybody else's time because I didn't have to ask questions every time I hit a small bump. Asking questions is always great, but it's best to avoid it when it comes to small facts that you should have figured out already.
