I loved knowing that I was helping people out. Usually, they’d come in very frustrated and concerned with their legal issues. Luckily, I was able to offer them guidance and help that ultimately aided them in the end.
What I wish was different
I Wish I would have gotten a little more facetime with the litigants. Because I lack a legal education, I wasn’t able to completely help them in all circumstances, not like my employer could.
Advice
I would advise anyone looking to fulfill a position here to be prepared for all sorts of emotions. You will likely run into people who may be angry, saddened, and generally upset because of their circumstances. A part of your job will include being able to help and calm down those people, which may be a bit unsettling at first, but it is easy to get used to.

Summer Intern
June - August 2021 • Cleveland, OH
What I liked
I enjoyed my coworkers and the ability to see different parts of the court process that are not normally advertised, and learn about other possible careers I could have.
What I wish was different
There were a lot of interns and I often felt like I was being given busy work instead of learning something for the first month that I was there, I would definitely have loved if I had started out the way I had ended
Advice
Be prepared for things to change quickly on the job
